The game features a headset and a levitating foam ball. Your job is to strap on the headset and use your mental powers to move the ball around the game console through an obstacle course that you can design. No more cards, dice, or luck. How well you play is entirely up to you. As you learn to focus or relax your mind, the ball will respond by rising or falling.
The headset itself is something straight out of a science fiction movie. You strap it on, align it properly, connect clips to your ear lobes and begin concentrating.
As you get better you can move through five different games where you can set how difficult the game should be and you can track your scores to measure your improvement.
The obstacle course can be designed by you. You’ll get hurdles, funnels, hoops and move. Place them where you want and try to move the ball through the obstacles, again using nothing but your mind.
While challenging and a great deal of fun, this game is not for everyone. You will be rewarded for patience and a willingness to experiment. If your child likes brain puzzles or mazes, he will like this game. If he gets frustrated easily, this may not be the ideal game for him or her.
The Mindflex game is recommended for ages 8 and up. You’ll need plenty of battery power as 4 C batteries are needed plus 3 more AAA batteries for the headset.
Again we caution this is not a game for everyone. The reviews were mixed but generally positive. But we’ve included it here because those who liked the game really liked it alot.
